Former Rivers State Governor and prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) figure, Nyesom Wike, has claimed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would have won Osun State if the Federal Government had wanted him to play a role in the election.
Wike made the statement while reflecting on the political dynamics surrounding Osun State and the strength of the state’s political leadership.
According to him, if he had been present and actively involved in the political process, the outcome would have been different, insisting that Governor Ademola Adeleke would not have been able to stop the APC from winning.
“If the Federal Government wanted APC to win Osun, I would have been there, and we would have won it, and there’s nothing Governor Ademola would do,” Wike said.
The former governor’s comment has generated political interest, particularly because of the importance of Osun State in Nigeria’s political landscape and the rivalry between the APC and PDP.
Governor Ademola Adeleke remains a major political figure in Osun State, where the PDP has maintained a strong presence. Wike, meanwhile, has continued to attract attention for his outspoken views on national and state-level political developments.
