The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed that it froze the bank accounts of the Osun State Government and arrested the state's Accountant-General as part of an ongoing investigation into the alleged fraudulent handling of about ₦11 billion in public funds.
According to the anti-graft agency, the investigation has been ongoing since March 2026 and focuses on the management of Ecology Funds, Intervention Funds and allocations from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC). The commission stated that the account freeze was necessary to prevent any further movement of funds while investigations continue.
